Bottled in 2022 for Batch 2 of Glenallachie's Virgin Oak Series, Glenallachie 10-year-old Chinquapin Virgin Oak started its maturation in ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred for its final 18 months of ageing to virgin casks made with Chinquapin oak from the Ozarks in Missouri.
The wood for these Chinquapin oak casks was air dried for nearly four years before being coopered into the casks for this Glenallachie, and were medium toasted before being filled. Glenallachie 10-year-old Chinquapin Virgin Oak has been bottled at 48% without chill filtration or colouring, so this is the real deal and should be delicious.
